Common questions about mold and remediation
If your question is not here, call us. We are happy to explain anything about your situation.
How much does mold remediation cost?
Cost depends on the size of the affected area, what materials are involved, how accessible it is, and what is causing the moisture. We do not publish set prices because every job is different. Call and describe your situation to start the conversation.
What hours can I reach you?
We answer Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm. Call (313) 650-5491 or email [email protected].
Do I need mold testing?
Not always. If growth is visible, testing rarely changes the plan. Sampling helps when growth is hidden, when documentation is needed, or to compare conditions after work. Our surface and air sampling page explains more.
Can I clean mold myself?
Small spots on hard surfaces can often be cleaned by a homeowner. Larger areas, growth on drywall or insulation, or mold after a flood or sewage backup are better handled with containment and professional equipment.
Will mold come back after remediation?
Mold returns when moisture returns. That is why we focus on finding the source and recommending fixes, such as ventilation, drainage, or plumbing repairs by the right trade.
Is it safe to stay home during the work?
In many cases, yes, because the work area is contained and filtered. It depends on the size of the job and who lives in the home. We discuss it with you before work begins.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Downtown Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, River Rouge, Grosse Pointe Park. Call to confirm your address.
Do you fix leaks, roofs, or sewer lines?
No. We remediate mold and identify likely moisture sources. Repairs to plumbing, roofs, foundations, and sewer lines should be handled by the appropriate trade.
What causes musty smells in a house?
Musty odor usually comes from active mold growth, often hidden in basements, wall cavities, crawl spaces, or HVAC equipment. Removing the source is the lasting fix.
How do I get started?
